South Gloucester United Church has been at the corner of Albion and Rideau since 1880. We were, are and forever will be committed to being a faithful community in the midst of the larger community around us, serving Ottawa South, Greely, Osgoode, Riverside South, Findlay Creek, Deer Run and welcome all residents in any of the city and rural areas.
We invite you to come and be part of who we are for we know that we are not complete without you among us. We look forward to being enriched and changed by you, and offer ourselves to you as well. We worship every Sunday at 9:00 am and look forward to seeing you soon.
South Gloucester United Church is a congregation of The United Church of Canada (www.united-church.ca).
We are a Protestant Church.
We believe that Jesus of Nazareth was and is the fullest expression of God's heart ever revealed to humankind.
We believe that God loves us all so much that God risked everything in order to set us free so that we might become in our own ways an expression of the spirit and presence of God.
We believe that everyone is a child of God, and is therefore a member of our family of faith.
We believe that everyone is worthy of being treated with respect because of their fundamental nature in God.
The United Church has set out these beliefs in its Creed, and we accept this expression as a gift worthy to be shared and celebrated:
We are not alone, we live in God's world.
We believe in God: who has created and is creating,
who has come in Jesus, the Word made flesh,
to reconcile and make new, who works in us and others
by the Spirit.
We trust in God.
We are called to be the Church: to celebrate God's presence,
to live with respect in Creation, to love and serve others,
to seek justice and resist evil, to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen,
our judge and our hope.
In life, in death, in life beyond death, God is with us.
We are not alone. Thanks be to God.
